May 7, 1991
The regular monthly meeting of the City of McHenry Landmark
Commission was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Members present were:
Marya Dixon, Donnabelle Doherty, Adele Froehlich, Jesse Freund,
Marlene Goetchel , Tom Hopkins, Jean Smith, Lori Wilhelm, and Barb
Byron.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved by unanimous vote.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
It was suggested that our General Fund and our Fall Fundraiser
accounts be kept separate so we will know how much of a Facade
Improvement Grant we will be able to give. It was agreed that this
was a good idea.
It was moved by Jean Smith that we establish a minimum of $1000 and
a maximum of $1200 as a Grant to John Swierk, depending on what the
proceeds are from this year's fundraiser. The motion was passed
unanimously.
PRESERVATION ORDINANCE QUESTIONNAIRES:
Tom Hopkins reported that to date, we have a 20% response out of a
total of 180 mailed. Sixty-five percent of the responses to date
were in favor . After some discussion, Tom suggested we think more
on what we should do with this information. We will discuss our
options at the next meeting. We must decide how to present this to
the Council .
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M. to enjoy a public program
entitled "The Alfred Pouse Years", presented by Craig Pfankuche.
Respectfully submitted,
Lori Wilhelm
