HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1/3/1989 - Landmark Commission CITY OF MCHENRY LANDMARK CONLtIISSION January 3. 1989 The regular. meeting of the City of McHenry Landmark Commission was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Members in attendance were: Nancy Fike, Frank Gans:, Dick Rabbitt, Mara Weber; Adele Froelich, Mary Lou Schaeffer, Hank Nell. Jesse Freund, Lori Wilhelm, Tom Hopkins: Absent: Dorthy Uttich, Kristin Parnea.li. Donna Belle Doherty. A. discussion was held on the possible sale of the Owen home. The Commission feels. that some imput should be given if this be the case. Jesse. Freund will try and get more' information and present it at the next meeting. Nancy Fike spoke on the Washington School in Marengo preservation issue. The sale: of the school to the City of Marengo was turned down by the McHenry County School Trustees. Adele Froelich read a sample of a publicity letter that will be sent to area businesses. The- letter- will be sent in the very near future. The letter was an excellent piece of journalism, and the commission thanked Adele for her fine effort. The Fall Heritage Tour will be held on Sunday :yeptember 17, 1989 from 1J 1.:00 A.M. until 14s00 P.M. Decisions on homes and businesses to be listed on the tour will be named at a later meeting.
