The regular meeting of the City of McHenry Landmark Commission was called to order
at 7:3O P.M. Members in attendance were; Nancy Pike, Tom Hopkins, Dick Rabbitt,
Dorthy Uttich, Hank Nell,, Lori Wilheim, Mary Lou Schaeffer, Adele Froelich,
Jesse Freund, Frank Gans„ Kristin Paraeali. Absent; Mare Weber.
New student member Kristin Parneali a senior at East Campus wasi introduced. Minutes
of the October meeting were approved.
President fancy Fike discussed with the City Beautification Committee about the
possibility of a House and Garden walk during Fiesta Days. It was decided that maybe
a Garden walk along with House Tour should be held in September.
Discussion was held on the Business Renovation Facade Improvement Program. A motion
to accept the Landmark Commission proposal for the Fund with corrections approved
by the City Attorney was approved.
Hopefully assignments on Historic Muildiags will be completed by the next meeting,
Tom Hopkins gave an update on donations for the Revitalization Committee. Donations
to be used for Lamp Posts, Benches, Trash Containers for the Business Districts.
Nancy Pike gave al report on the history of the present site of the McHenry State
Bank, and Mt also a short slide program on historic house wallpaper.
