Members present were.; Nancy Film, Tom Hopkins, Dick Babbitt, Dorthy Uttich, Hank Nell, Lori Wilhelm, Mary Lop Schaeffer, Adele Froelich, Jesse Freund, Mary Vycital. Absent Frank Gans. The amount of $60.00 was: spent for the joint I.A.H.P.C. and I.L.C.P.I. membership. A vote was taken on the plaque application of the Miller Walsh home on Main Street. Vote passed, and results will be sent to the City Council for their approval. Kristin Panereli a junior at East Campus will become the student member of theLanndmark Commission at the October meeting. As discussion was held on the purchase of a+ book "Field Guide to American Houses in memory of Avis Gana. The book will be purchased and donated to the McHenry Public Library. The McHenry State Bank, First National Bank, and the McHenry Sayings Bank each donated'. $50.00 to help defray expenses for the Heritage Tour on September 2 th. Locker Flowers will provide flowers for the Schaeffer home on Waukegan Street, and to Landmark School, The Old Mill, and the Masonic Lodge. Dorthy Uttich will call and remind former teachers who will be hosts at Landmark School. She also mailed 40 letters to churches in the area, asking for their help in promoting the Heritage Tour. The First National Bank has consented to promote the tour on their sign frequently the week before the tour. Adele Froelich will write ar.ticlessfor the local paper promoting the tour. Raffle tickets will sold by members and at City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce. Mary Lou Schaeffer will be responsible for picking up the ticke*a from City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce Office. Posters will be placed around the community, and it was the opinion of the members that each should in their own way promote the tour and raffle. Tom Hopkins gave al short talk on applications for grants. Tom spoke on what questions should be asked on applications, and members are to bring in other ideas on the subject at the October meeting. A special meeting prior to the Heritage tour will be held at Mary Lou Schaeffer's home on Tuesday September' 20 bh at 7.30 P.M. Meeting adjourned at 9:061 P.M. Respectfully submitted Dick.
