Discussion Resarding Final Draft of the Comarehesive Transaortation Studv
Chairman VVimmer introduced Bob Wegener, President and CEO of SEC, the firm which
conducted the comprehensive transportation study, to identify and address cuirent and future
traffic concerns.
`" Mr. Wegener presented the final draft of the Comprehensive Traffic Study, which
included an inventory of cunent transportation components within the City, as well as traffic
counts, conditions at key intersections, and an identification of intersections/roads operating
below acceptable levels of service. Based upon this analysis, SEC has developed a list of
recommendtions the City may consider to improve transportation.
Mr. Wegener noted that additionally, the Study contains the prioritization of the projects
and possible funding sources. Mr. Wegener reiterated that the Study is a living document that
should be updated every other year or so.
City Administrator Maaeiner informed the Commission that Staff has reviewed the final
draft and is seekin the Commission's final comments and/or concems prior to presenting the
Study to full Council for adoption.
Responding to an inquiry by Alderman Condon, Mr. Wegener responded affirmatively
that a trc signal at Kresswood Drive and Bull Valley Road would be included in the probable
cost of the Kresswood Drive improvements.
Alderman Glab expressed concern regarding the amount of traffic the Royal DrivelOak
Street ralignment would create through the public park and residential area. The fifty-one curb
cuts on Royal Drive should be addressed. Mr. Wegener assured Alderman Glab his concerns
would be addressed.
