Special Meeting
February 25, 2010
A Special Meeting of the City of McHenry Police Commission was called to order by Chairman Haley on
February 25, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. in the McHenry Municipal Center Aldermen’s Conference Room. In
attendance were Police Commissioners Ramon Gregorio, Sean Haley, and Michael Roberts. Absent:
None. Also in attendance was Deputy City Clerk Kunzer.
Discussion: Personnel
Chairman Haley stated the purpose of this meeting is to discuss a proposed presentation before the
McHenry City Council at its March 1, 2010 regularly scheduled meeting. He stated the commissioners
had observed several things during the recently conducted new hire and promotion processes. In
discussing the recent processes, the commissioners noted the morale of the Police Department and
respect and admiration for the Chief and command staff is beyond reproach. To that end, the
commissioners have decided to address the McHenry City Council and report their findings to them.
Chairman Haley provided the commissioners with copies of proposed remarks he intended to use in
addressing the Council. He invited comments, modifications, and corrections from the commissioners.
Commissioners Roberts and Gregorio stated their approval of the prepared statement. Commissioner
Roberts noted Chairman Haley might want to conclude by stating it is an honor to serve the McHenry
community in this capacity or something similar. Chairman Haley and Commissioner Gregorio
concurred.
Chairman Haley noted he would not be reading his remarks. He inquired as to the procedure for
providing Public Comment at a Council meeting. Deputy Clerk Kunzer advised the commissioners as to
Council meeting procedure for addressing Council during the designated Public Input time.
Adjournment
Motion by Gregorio, seconded by Roberts, to adjourn at 4:45 p.m.
Voting Aye: Gregorio, Haley, Roberts.
Voting Nay: None
Absent: None.
Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
