Board of Police Commissioners
December 3, 2014
Chairman Richard Huber called the meeting to order at 4:05 PM in the City of McHenry Aldermen’s
Conference Room with the following persons present: Commissioner Ramon Gregorio, Deputy Chief of
Police John Birk, and recording secretary Marci Geraghty.

None.
Consideration of November 4, 2014 Minutes
Motion by Mr. Gregorio, seconded by Chairman Huber to approve the minutes from the November 4,
2014 Police Commission meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Gregorio, Huber
Voting Nay: None
Absent: Roberts
Motion carried.
Unfinished Business
Application Update & Test Schedule
Deputy Chief Birk reported 24 candidates out of 34 passed the written exam. The final candidates will
proceed to the oral interview portion of the exam on Saturday, December 6th, Tuesday, December 9th, and
Tuesday, December 16th.
An interview schedule and test questions were distributed to the commissioners. Deputy Chief Birk
explained the commission will be divided into two groups – Group 1 will ask Part 1 questions and Group
2 will ask Part 2 questions. The two groups will meet afterwards for a comprehensive review of all
interviews. The oral exam is comprised of scenario and general knowledge questions. The oral exam
score will be added to the written test scores.
4:20 PM – Commissioner Roberts joined the meeting.
Officer Updates
Officers Samuel Schafer will graduate from PTI on December 18th.
Officer Conway is training with FTO Polidori on the dayshift.
New Business:
Police Sergeant Exams
Sgt. Exams will be held next July or August. Notice will be posted sometime in April. Patrol Officers
are required to have at least three years experience or more to be eligible to take the sergeants exam.
Bills for Approval:
I/O Solutions $1,397.04
Mr. Gregorio made a motion, seconded by Mr. Roberts to approve the list of bills as presented.

There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Gregorio made a motion, seconded by Mr. Roberts to
adjourn the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:40 PM.
Next meeting of the Police Commission is January 7, 2015.
