Board of Police Commissioners
November 15, 2017
Chairman Rick Huber called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM in the Police Administration Conference
Room with the following Commissioner present, Ramon Gregorio and Michael Roberts. Also present:
Chief John Birk, HR Manager Ann Campanella, and Deputy Clerk Marci Geraghty.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve October 4, 2017 Meeting Report
Motion by Gregorio, second by Roberts to approve the minutes from the October 4, 2017 Police
Commission meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Gregorio, Roberts, Huber
Voting Nay: None
Absent: None
Motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Chief Birk reported on the following items:
a) Officer Schmidt will graduate from the Cook County Sherriff’s Police Academy on
December 1.
b) Sgt. Ryan Sciame will be promoted to Commander effective November 20, 2017.
c) Officer Brian McKeen will be promoted to Det. Sgt. effective November 20, 2107.
d) Det. Kelly Ducak will be promoted to Sergeant effective November 20, 2017.
e) Lateral Transfer candidates Robert Henderson has successfully completed testing. Chief Birk
recommended extending an offer to Henderson and the board agreed. Pending the required
physical exam, the Oath of Office will be administered on 11/27 or 12/4.
3. New Business
None.
4. Communications
a) The following bills were presented for approval:
Theodore Polygraph Services Inc., $150.00

Standard & Associates, Inc. Evaluation $395.00
(Candidate Henderson)
IFPCA Annual Membership Renewal $375.00
Gregorio made a motion, seconded by Huber to approve payment of bills as presented.

5. Adjournment
Motion by Gregorio, second by Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 4:14 PM.
