HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 11/6/2019 - Police Commission City of McHenry Board of Police Commissioners November 6, 2019 Police Commissioner Mike Roberts called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM in the Police Administration Conference Room with the following Commissioner present, John Jones. Also present was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Debbie Shuett and special guest Sue Meyer. Chairman Rick Huber submitted his resignation from the Police Commission. Public Comment None. 1. Motion to Approve September 4, 2019 Meeting Report Motion by Commissioner John Jones, second by Mike Roberts to approve the minutes from the September 4, 2019 Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried. 2. Unfinished Business Personnel – Diana Hernandez is doing well. She graduated from the academy in September. Officer Sue Ellis is doing well, will be released on her own soon. Officer John “Jack” Staines has submitted his resignation on Monday November 4th. He was a former Police Officer for New York. He was dealing with some personal issues. Currently have 4 vacant Patrol Officers positions. Have changed ordinance, need a 70% or higher to be placed on eligibility list. Possible start date of December 3rd for Police Lateral Candidates Ashley O’Herron and Henri Krueger. Holiday cookout last week of November. All Police Commissioners invited. 3. New Business Chairman Rick Huber has submitted his resignation as Police Commissioner. He has accepted a new position outside of McHenry. At the next City Council meeting, which will be held on November 18th, Sue Meyer will be appointment as the newest Police Commissioner if all Council members agree. 4. Adjournment Motion by Commissioner Mike Roberts, second by John Jones to adjourn the meeting at 8:49 AM. All ayes, motion carried.
