Other Commissioner in attendance was Ramon Gregorio. Others present, Chief of Police John Jones and Administrative Assistant Joan Lunsmann. Dr Michael Roberts was absent. Public Input: None. Consideration of September 2, 2015 Minutes Motion by Mr. Gregorio, seconded by Mr Huber to approve the minutes from the September 2, 2015 Police Commission meeting as presented. Voting Aye: Gregorio, Huber Voting Nay: None Absent: Roberts Motion carried. Unfinished Business: Sgt. Exam Update Chief Jones asked the commission members to consider a change in procedure for the next promotional testing. It is common practice with other agencies to set a minimum score on the written test to advance to the next round. Chief Jones believes setting a minimum would expedite the process. Possibly a score of 70 on the written test could be required to move onto the interview round. Promotional testing is not schedule to occur again until 2017 so there is adequate time for discussion. Personnel Update Ofc. Ryan Ehardt broke his hand during training at PTI. He is being allowed to stay at the academy and complete the classroom portion. He is unable to participate in the 40 hour weapons qualification and will need to complete that prior to beginning his field training. The hearing for Ofc. Mark Gandor with the pension board has been set for 11/12/15. More details will be available after that meeting. Chief Jones advised the commission members that the eligibility list is getting short again. Requested that further discussion be held at the December meeting about re-testing. This would be handled the same as last time: those individuals currently on the list would have the option of re-testing or being included on the new list at the present score. This should be included on the December 2, 2015 agenda as new business. All new hires are doing well, including Shafer, Piekarski, Kinney, and Ehardt. The Chief thanked the commission for obtaining good candidates. Communications None Bills for Approval Two invoices were submitted for approval. Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Association for $375 and Stanard & Associates for $1185.00. Mr. Gregorio moved to accept and pay the invoices presented. Mr. Huber seconded. Voting Aye: Gregorio, Huber Voting Nay: None Absent: Roberts Motion carried. Adjournment There being no further business to discuss, Chairman Huber called for adjournment. Motion made by Mr. Huber, seconded by Mr. Gregorio. Voting Aye: Gregorio, Huber Voting Nay: None Absent: Roberts Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 PM. Next meeting of the Police Commission is December 2, 2015 Respectfully submitted, _________________ Joan Lunsmann
