Board of Police Commissioners
September 5, 2018
Ramon Gregorio called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM in the Police Administration Conference Room
with the following Commissioner present, Michael Roberts. Absent: Chairman Rick Huber. Also present
was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh, HR Manager Ann Campanella and Administrative
Assistant Debbie Shuett.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve August 1, 2018 Meeting Report
Motion by Roberts, second by Gregorio to approve the minutes from the August 1, 2018 Police
Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Peter Mader is out of Field Training 2 weeks early. Started solo patrol August 19th.
Luis Pena is doing very well. Has 2 weeks left in Field Training before he will be released on his
own.
3. New Business
Sean Klechak is on Unpaid Discretionary Leave until February 1, 2019. He has filed for non-duty
related disability pension. Will move forward with the hiring process.
Rimon Malik is number 1 on the Patrol Officers Eligibility list, and has declined a job offer at this
time. Megan Carey is second on the Eligibility list. Have completed the background check and
she has passed both the polygraph and psychological test. Physical completed on 9/5/18, waiting
for results. If Megan Carey passes physical and power test, she will be sworn in on September
12th at 8:00 am and will then leave on September 17th for the Suburban Law Enforcement
Academy.

5. Adjournment
Motion by Roberts, second by Gregorio to adjourn the meeting at 4:15 PM. All ayes, motion
carried.
