HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 5/4/2016 - Police Commission City of McHenry Board of Police Commissioners May 4, 2016 Chairman Rick Huber called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM in the City of McHenry Council Chambers with the following Commissioners present: Ramon Gregorio and Mike Roberts. Absent: None. Also present: Chief John Jones, Deputy Chief John Birk, Human Resources Manager Ann Campanella and Deputy City Clerk Marci Geraghty. Public Input: None. 1. Consideration of April 6, 2016 Meeting Minutes Motion by Roberts, seconded by Gregorio to approve the minutes from the April 6, 2016 Police Commission meeting as presented. Voting Aye: Roberts, Gregorio, Huber Voting Nay: None Abstaining: None Not Voting: None Absent: None Motion carried. 2. Unfinished Business a) Presentation of proposed updates to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Police Commissioners manual and anticipated motion to forward the updates to the City Council for adoption. Chief Jones and Deputy Chief Birk presented the Commission with drafts of the proposed Ordinance prepared by City Attorney McArdle. After review and discussion of all the items: Motion by Roberts, seconded by Gregorio to submit the updates to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Police Commissioners as presented. Voting Aye: Roberts, Gregorio, Huber Voting Nay: None Abstaining: None Not Voting: None Absent: None Motion carried. b) Department Updates. Human Resources Manager Campanella informed the Commission 131 applicants started to submit information on the online application and 40 completed applications were actually 2 submitted. Of the 40 applicants received, 34 applicants are eligible to attend the mandatory Orientation May 11 at 7:00 PM. Applicants who attended Orientation will be given the written exam on May 14. 3. New Business None. 4. Communications a) There was one bill presented for payment to The Blue Line in the amount of $348.00 for Police Recruitment Listing. Motion by Gregorio, seconded by Roberts to approve the payment of bills as presented. Voting Aye: Gregorio, Roberts, Huber Voting Nay: None Abstaining: None Not Voting: None Absent: None Motion carried. 5. Motion to Adjourn There being no further business to discuss, Gregorio made a motion, seconded by Roberts to adjourn the meeting. Voting Aye: Gregorio, Roberts, Huber Voting Nay: None Abstaining: None Not Voting: None Absent: None Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 PM.
