Board of Police Commissioners
May 3, 2017
Chairman Rick Huber called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM in the City of McHenry Council Chambers
with the following Commissioner present, Mike Roberts. Absent: Ramon Gregorio. Also present: Mayor
Wayne Jett, Deputy Chief Birk, and Deputy Clerk Marci Geraghty.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve April 5, 2017 Meeting Report
Motion by Roberts, second by Huber to approve the minutes from the April 5, 2017 Police
Commission meeting as presented.
Voting Aye: Roberts, Huber
Voting Nay: None
Absent: Gregorio
Motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
a) Deputy Chief Birk provided an update on the employment status of Officer Candidate
Schmidt.
3. New Business
The Commission welcomed newly elected Mayor Wayne Jett to the meeting. A brief discussion
ensued on the role of the Police Commission specifically with interviewing candidates.
4. Communications
a) There were no bills presented for approval.
b) The Commission announced its support of the MCPOA Annual Golf Outing and the members
agreed to be a hole sponsor.
5. Adjournment
Motion by Roberts, second by Huber to adjourn the meeting at 4:20 PM.
