Board of Police Commissioners
February 5, 2020
Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 8:06 AM in the Police Administration
Conference Room with the following Commissioner present, John Jones and Mike Roberts. Also present
was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve January 8, 2020 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Mike Roberts, second by
John Jones to approve the minutes from the January 8, 2020 Police Commission meeting as
presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Personnel:
Diana Hernandez is doing well. Is now on her own.
Ashley O’Herron, will be released early from Field Training.
Henri Krueger, who came from Lake County College, is doing well. He is starting out as a newer
officer would, as he has no street experience. Still in Step 2.
3. New Business
Applications for Entry Level Patrol Officer will have an opening date of February 7th and a
closing date of March 2nd, 2020 (see attached handout). Orientation meeting will be held on
March 19th at 7:00 pm; Written Examination will be held on March 21st at 9:00 am. Entry Level
Patrol Officer eligibility list is set to expire in June.
Oral Interview dates will be April 4th and April 11th, times to be determined later. Will have two
additional add on dates (if necessary) on April 7th and April 9th between the hours of 5:00 pm and
8:00 pm. Need a score of 75% or better on oral Interview in order to be placed on the Eligibility
list.

5. Adjournment
Motion by Commissioner John Jones, second Mike Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 AM.
All ayes, motion carried.
