a. Eligibility list for patrol officers.
Per Chief Jones, the next applicant on the current eligibility list is residing in
Texas. He is still interested and arrangements will be made to perform all
necessary testing when he is available. We have a spot reserved in the April,
2016 academy and would like to utilize that slot with someone from the current
list. Dependent on the pension board ruling, we may be hiring for that slot.
Deputy Chief Birk presented a timeline for testing for a new eligibility list. All
Commissioners agreed to the timeline and approved the dates for oral interviews.
DC Birk advised that the dates for oral interviews could be flexible if necessary,
but would like to hold to the posting date of June 3, 2016. Cooperation with
Human Resources will be important to allow Anne time to notify candidates of
the oral interview dates. Our next academy date would be June 26, 2016.
DC Birk advised that our slots are at U of I Police Training Institute due to the
savings achieved with the agreement with the State of Illinois that training is free.
b. Sgt List
Chief Jones advised that no changes should be made to the current rules
governing testing for Sgts. The next list will require a total score, including
written test, Chief interview, and oral interview, of 70% or better.
c. Department Updates
Dep. Chief Birk advised Ofc. Ehardt is progressing thru the field training program
and doing well.
Ofc. Kinney is doing well and is being considered for upcoming training in his
areas of interest.
d. Chief Jones advised that the McHenry Dispatch Center has been chosen to be one of
3 centers to remain in McHenry County, along with SEECOM and county. We will
be expanding our center to 9 positions and taking in several new jurisdictions. That
will make McHenry either the largest or 2nd largest center in the county.
