HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 1/8/2020 - Police Commission City of McHenry Board of Police Commissioners January 8, 2020 Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM in the Police Administration Conference Room with the following Commissioner present, John Jones and Mike Roberts. Also present was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett. Public Comment None. 1. Motion to Approve December 4, 2019 Meeting Report Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Jones, second by Mike Roberts to approve the minutes from the December 4, 2019 Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried. 2. Unfinished Business Personnel – Diana Hernandez is doing well. Was released from field training as of yesterday 1/7/2020. Ashley O’Herron, who came from Hanover Park, is doing extremely well. May come out of field training early, still working on geographical area. Henri Krueger, who came from Lake County College, is doing well. He is starting out as a newer officer would, as he has no street experience. Will be starting step 2 of field training soon. 3. New Business Entry Level Patrol Officer Eligibility list is set to expire in June. At next Police Commission meeting want to be prepared for the testing process for new hires. Interviews to possibly occur sometime in March, want to post Eligibility list sometime in April. Have changed the College requirements for Entry Level Officers. Only need Associates Degree no longer Bachelor’s Degree. 4. Communications The following bill(s) were presented for approval: The Blue Line $348.00 (Lateral Recruitment Listing) 2 5. Adjournment Motion by Commissioner John Jones, second Mike Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 AM. All ayes, motion carried.
