We need to get the citizens of McHenry interested and informed of the Historical buildings around town. Tom Hillier, treasurer Budget information noted $5,500 last year. Discussion was to increase our budget $10,000 more for 2023. City Council meeting is March 6, 2023 decision on this amount will be presented. January 20, 2023 request for increase needs to be sent in to Derek Morefield office for evaluation. Motion was made by: First motion Jeff Varda 2nd Motion Zelinda Paluch Giseler Plaque: Robin Schmidt /McHenry Specialties will be contacted We will decide what is needed New Business Jeff Varda spoke to Sean Sterner, American History teacher from District #156 to discuss the History into the McHenry County and Agricultural Past. Discussion on this Educational Tour was very informative Stopping at Petersen Farm. New Discussion on the budget Printing Brochures Cemetery walks Display Case at City Hall Rent buses for the tours History Night at the Thursday nights Band Concerts Loyola Interns Jeff Varda discussed research needed on Green Street/ Riverside Drive. Lustron History Beth Staley informed us and distributed an article on Lustron Homes A home in McHenry, the oldest Lustron home, was originally located in Chicago on Lake Shore Drive and Lawrence Ave. Moved to McHenry when Chicago building codes required plaster walls and ceilings in homes.
