Board of Police Commissioners
August 3, 2022
Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 2:10 pm in the Police Administration
Conference Room with the following Commissioner present, Mike Roberts. Also present was Chief John
Birk and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett. Absent Police Commissioner John Jones and Deputy
Chief Tom Walsh
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve June 1, 2022 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Police Commission Mike
Roberts and second by Sue Meyer to approve the minutes from the June 1, 2022, meeting. Police
Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Personnel Update – Officers Szoke and Diebold have both been released to solo patrol. Both are
doing well. Officer Campos and Officer McClure graduated from the academy last Friday. First
week in training. One on midnights and the other is on the day shift.
3. New Business
Recruitment efforts have been declining in the last few years. It’s a Nationwide problem and a
County problem. Looking into a county wide recruiting testing program.
4. Communications
None
Adjournment
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting, Police Commission Mike Roberts
and second by Sue Meyer to adjourn the meeting at 2:30 pm. All ayes, motion carried.
