Board of Police Commissioners
November 18, 2021
Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm in the McHenry Municipal Center
City Council Chambers with the following Commissioners present, Mike Roberts and John Jones. Also
present was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve November 3, 2021 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Police Commission Mike
Roberts and second by John Jones to approve the minutes from the November 3, 2021. Police
Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Sergeant Promotional List – Collected all the scores from the Police Commissioners from the
interviews. Tabulated the written scores and merit points. Final list for presentation and approval
from the Police Commissioners. Motion to approve the Sergeant Promotional List, which will
take effect November 30, 2021 – Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve Sergeant
Promotional List. Police Commission Mike Roberts, second by John Jones. All ayes, motion
carried.
3. New Business
Set up new Police Officer Eligibility List Interviews - Monday December 13th and Wednesday
December 15th – start time 2:30pm. Alternative date Tuesday December 14th. Starting time
2:30pm until 7:00pm. Alternative date December 14th starting time 6:00pm
4. Communications
The following bill(s) were presented for approval: None
5. Adjournment
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting, Police Commission John Jones and
second by Mike Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 pm. All ayes, motion carried.
