RE: Annual Liquor License Renewals
RECOMMENDATION: 1. To approve the 2000-01 renewal of Liquor Licenses for
the establishments on the attached list subject to
satisfactory fingerprint results of the new owners
and/or managers.
2. Approve the enclosed Ordinance reducing the number
of Class A liquor licenses from 27 to 25.
Pursuant to Chapter 4 of the City of McHenry Municipal Code, liquor establishments
located in the City limits must renew their licenses annually with the City of McHenry by
April 30 (the end of the fiscal year). Attached for your review is the 2000-01 list of
establishments that have submitted their liquor license renewal applications.
In addition, all new managers and/or owners must be fingerprinted. The results of those
fingerprints should be received from the Illinois State Police within the next six to eight
weeks. Establishments whose managers and/or owners are new include: Ye Olde Corner
Tap (new owner); The Old Bridge Tavern (new owner); Eagle Food Center #223 (new
manager); Osco Drugs (new manager); Pizza Hut (new manager); McHenry Country Club
(new manager); McHenry American Legion Post 491(new manager); and Liberty Club of
McHenry, Inc. (new manager). An asterisk appears next to the name of these
establishments on the attached list. The liquor license applications for these
establishments will be approved subject to receipt of satisfactory fingerprint results.
The owners of Tello’s Mexican Restaurant located at 1214 North Green Street informed
Mayor Cuda that they would not be renewing their liquor license (A-7). In addition,
Whale’s Tale Restaurant located at 3425 Pearl Street closed and will not be renewing
their liquor license (A-8). In conjunction with non-renewals, the attached ordinance
amending the number of Class A liquor licenses must be approved.
