A G E N D A S U P P L E M E N T TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: John A. Lobaito, City Administrator FOR: April 12, 2000 Regular City Council Meeting RE: Intergovernmental Agreement – City of McHenry/McHenry County Highway Department As Council is aware, the City of McHenry requested and received a $20,000 grant from the “Fund for Illinois’ Future” for the construction of four streetlights at various intersections on Charles J. Miller Road. $10,000 of this grant was inadvertently sent to the McHenry County Highway Department. To correct this error, IDOT requested the City and the County enter into an intergovernmental agreement so that the funds can be transferred from the County to the City. The County will enter into the agreement with the state to receive the money and then by the attached agreement, the County will pass on the monies to the City when it is received. Upon completion of the streetlights, the County agrees to assume maintenance costs for the operation of the lights including the cost of electrical power. mmg Attach.
