RE: Lease Agreement for the Hickory Creek Farm between the City of
McHenry and Michael Sikula, Jr.
Attachments: Year 2001 Lease Agreement
Recommendation: To authorize the Mayor’s execution of the Lease Agreement
between the City of McHenry and Michael Sikula, Jr. for a monthly lease payment of
$1,958.
As discussed at the January 3, 2001 City Council meeting, the term of the lease
between the City of McHenry and Mickey Sikula for the Hickory Creek Farm property
expires on January 31, 2001.
As was done in the past, a list of activities developed to expand the use of the barn
for the general public is incorporated into the lease agreement (page 3).
For year 2000, City Council decided to base the rent increases on the rate of inflation
for the Chicagoland area; using the same methodology, the increase in rent for the
Year 2001 lease is 2.7% or $1,958 per month. This is an increase of $51.00 per month
and is reflected in the attached lease agreement.
It is recommended that the City Council approve the Mayor’s execution of the
attached agreement renewing the lease between the City of McHenry and Michael
Sikula, Jr. for the Hickory Creek Farm.
