A G E N D A S U P P L E M E N T TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: John A. Lobaito, City Administrator FOR: April 25, 2001 Annual City Council Meeting RE: Annual Liquor License Renewals RECOMMENDATION: 1. To approve the 2001/2002 renewal of Liquor Licenses for the establishments on the attached list subject to satisfactory fingerprint results of the new owners and/or managers. 2. To approve the attached Ordinance decreasing the number of Class A liquor licenses from 25 to 24; increasing the number of Class G licenses from four to five; and decreasing the number of Class H liquor licenses from three to two. Pursuant to Chapter 4 of the City of McHenry Municipal Code, liquor establishments located in the City limits must renew their licenses annually with the City of McHenry by April 30 (the end of the fiscal year). Attached for your review is the 2001-02 list of establishments that have submitted their liquor license renewal applications. In addition, all new owners and/or managers must be fingerprinted. The results should be received from the Illinois State Police within the next six to eight weeks. As always, approval of those Liquor license applications is conditioned upon receipt of satisfactory fingerprint results. Those establishments are depicted on the attached list by an asterisk. Due to the recent revocation of the Class A-2 liquor license for Sunshine Enterprises, Inc, d/b/a First Draft Tavern, 3421 W. Elm St., the Class A-2 liquor license will not be renewed. Therefore, it is recommended to approve the attached ordinance decreasing the number of Class A liquor licenses in force at one time from 25 to 24. The attached ordinance also reflects changes necessary due to the move by Michael’s Bistro from a Class H liquor license to a Class G liquor license. As Liquor Commissioner, Mayor Cuda recommends the renewal of all liquor licenses for the establishments on the attached list, subject to satisfactory fingerprint results from the new owners and/or managers; and the approval of the attached Ordinance decreasing the number of Class A liquor licenses from 25 to 24; increasing the number of Class G license from four to five; and decreasing the number of Class H liquor licenses from three to two. mmg Attach.
