RE: PROCLAMATION:
National Volunteer Week, April 22, 2001 through 28, 2001
A request has been received from First Lady Lura Lynn Ryan to declare Sunday, April
22, 2001 through Saturday, April 28, 2001 National Volunteer Week. This is an
opportunity to thank everyone for their support and volunteer efforts from all
communities across the State of Illinois. As noted in the attached letter, six
outstanding young people from Illinois will be recognized for their volunteer efforts
at the Illinois State Fair this August.
A Proclamation for the City Council’s consideration is attached.

PRESENTATION

RE: Resolution - Major Investigative Assistance Team
As Council is aware, since March 6, 2001, ten investigators with MIAT along with city
personnel were actively pursuing the investigation into the slaying of local
businessman Raul Briseno.
Attached is a Resolution recognizing the efforts of the Major Investigative Assistance
Team (MIAT) and recognizing the cooperation of all home agencies involved in this
investigation.
Ken Mrozek of MIAT will be present at the City Council meeting.
