Maxeiner, City Administrator FOR: September 15, 2008 Regular City Council Meeting RE: Request from The Church of Holy Apostles to waive the three-events per calendar year limit and grant a special event liquor license and waiver of $25 license fee for the annual Fall Fest on September 19, and 20, 2008. The Church of Holy Apostles is hosting its annual Fall Fest on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2008, in the Bell Tower Place located at 5211 W. Bull Valley Road. Attached is a letter from Fr. Robert Sherry requesting approval for a special event liquor license to offer beer and wine to those in attendance and waiver of the $25 license fee. Since January 2008, the city has granted three special event liquor licenses to the church. As the Fall Fest is an annual parish event, the church is requesting a waiver of the three-events per calendar year limit established in Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code. Recommendation: To waive the three-events per calendar year limit and issue a special event liquor license to The Church of Holy Apostles for the annual Fall Fest scheduled for September 19 and 20, 2008, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and to waive the $25 license fee. CONSENT AGENDA TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Bill Hobson, Assistant City Administrator FOR: September 15, 2008 Regular City Council Meeting RE: Picnic/Special Use Permit Request RECOMMENDATION: To approve the attached request. Maxeiner, City Administrator FOR: September 15, 2008 Regular City Council Meeting RE: Request for special event liquor license and waiver of all associated fees, license fee for St. Patrick Church Annual Oktoberfest Celebration St. Patrick Church is hosting its annual Oktoberfest Celebration, Saturday, September 27, 2008, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on church property located at 3500 W. Washington Street. Attached is a copy of the special event liquor license application The church will not be placing temporary signs around the city. Recommendation: It is the Mayor’s recommendation to approve the request for a special event liquor license for the sale of beer and wine, and to waive all associated fees for the St. Patrick Church Annual Oktoberfest Celebration on Saturday, September 27, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
