Maxeiner, City Administrator FOR: September 10, 2007, Regular City Council Meeting RE: Request for Class G1 Liquor License RECOMMENDATION: To approve the request for a Class G1 Liquor License from Nathan L. Ryan d/b/a Café Aeon, 3918 W. Main Street conditioned upon a satisfactory fingerprint report and BASSET training; and, approval of the attached ordinance increasing the number of Class G1 liquor licenses from one to two. The Mayor received a request for a Class G1 liquor license from Nathan Ryan, owner of Café Aeon located at 3918 W. Main Street. Mr. Ryan wants to expand his café to a restaurant with a formal dining area offering alcoholic beverages. On July 30, 2007, the City Council approved a conditional use permit to serve th alcoholic beverages at this location. A copy of the July 30 meeting minutes and liquor license application are attached. Mr. Ryan was fingerprinted, submitted the required information, and paid all associated fees. He also met with Mayor Low and the City Administrator and is conversant with the regulations associated with a Class G1 liquor license. The Mayor recommends approval of this request conditioned upon receipt of a favorable fingerprint report and employees of Café Aeon involved in the service of alcohol attend a BASSET training class offered through the McHenry Police Department. CONSENT AGENDA The Consent Agenda for the September 10, 2007 City Council meeting consists of the following items: A.
