RE: Request for Class A Liquor License from Las Palmas of McHenry, Inc
d/b/a Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant & Bar and approval of the
attached Ordinance increasing the number of Class A liquor licenses
from 26 to 27
John Alex Abt, President of Las Palmas of McHenry, Inc. is requesting a liquor license
for the new Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant & Bar located at 209 North Front Street
and former site of the Truszkowski Delicatessen & Bakery.
Mr. Abt owns and operates Las Palmas restaurants in Chicago, Glenview,
Lindenhurst, Mundelein, and Westmont and is conversant with the State of Illinois
liquor control regulations. Mr. Abt was fingerprinted by the McHenry Police
Department and all associated fees have been paid.
Recommendation: It is the recommendation of the Mayor to approve the request for
a Class A Liquor License from Las Palmas Restaurants of McHenry, Inc. d/b/a Las
Palmas Mexican Restaurant & Bar pending receipt of a satisfactory fingerprint report
and all employees involved in the sale and/or service of alcohol be required to obtain
BASSET certification.
