RE: Request for Class G1 Liquor License
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the request for a Class G1 Liquor License from
Jonell Dahl Family Trust, Ltd., d/b/a Nana’s Kitchen, 4113 West Shamrock Lane
conditioned upon a satisfactory fingerprint report and BASSET training.
The Mayor received a request for a Class G1 liquor license from Cheryle Walls,
owner of Nana’s Kitchen in the Liberty Square retail center on Shamrock Lane.
Ms. Walls is looking to expand her current catering/take-out business to a
restaurant with a formal dining area and beer and wine.
Ms. Walls appeared before the City Council on July 30, 2007, and received
approval for a conditional use permit to serve alcoholic beverages at the proposed

location. A copy of the July 30 meeting minutes and liquor license application
are attached.
Ms. Walls has been fingerprinted, met with Mayor Low, submitted all required
information, and paid all associated fees. Upon approval, employees of Nana’s
Kitchen involved in the service of beer and wine will be required to attend
BASSET training classes offered through the McHenry Police Department.

RE: Landmark Commission Appointments

At the August 27 City Council meeting, I intend to appoint Ronald E. Glosson to
the McHenry Landmark Commission. Mr. Glosson is selected to fill a vacated
term that expires on April 30, 2009.
A copy of his application is attached. Please contact me prior to the meeting if
you have any comments or objections to the appointment, thank you.
