RE: Resolution in support of city application for McHenry County
Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $600,000 for
installation of sanitary sewer service in Hunterville Subdivision.
Staff has prepared an application to McHenry County for Community Development
Block Grant assistance for the installation of infrastructure to provide sanitary sewer
service to Hunterville Subdivision residents. The projected cost for this project is
$765,000. The grant application is in the amount of $600,000. Staff is seeking
approval of the attached resolution in support of the grant application.

RE: Parks and Public Works New Vehicles
RECOMMENDATION: Waive the bidding requirements and approve the purchase of the following
Parks and Public Works Trucks from Buss Ford in an amount not to exceed $123,507.00 and approve
the proposal from R. A. Adams Enterprises for the installation of equipment on the new cab and
chassis truck in an amount not to exceed $15,144.35.
Background. The 2007/08 budget included funding for the replacement of vehicles for the Street and Water
Divisions of the Public Works Department and Park Maintenance Division of the Parks Department. The
proposed vehicles will be replacing existing vehicles per our vehicle replacement program. In accordance
with city policy, staff provided an opportunity to local dealers to match or beat the state contract price. The
following responses were received:
Street Division – (2) 2008 4x4 pickups w/plows – budget amount of $84,000.00
Buss Ford $68,704.00
State Purchase Program $69,546.00

Water Division – (1) 2008 1 ton cab & chassis – budget amount of $45,000.00

After acquiring the cab and chassis, a utility box, lift gate, generator, ladder rack, trailer hitch and strobe lights
need to be installed. Quotes for this additional equipment were solicited and one response was received:
