Napolitano, Director, Community Development FOR: May 16, 2005, Regular City Council Meeting RE: Purchase of City Vehicles for Community Development Department ______________________________________________________________________________ Background: The Community Development Department FY 2005/06 budget includes $36,000 for the purchase of department vehicles. Two Ford pickup trucks are available through the State of Illinois Purchase Plan at a price of $17,549 each. The trucks would be used to replace a Ford Crown Victoria with 95,000 miles that was recycled from the Police Department and one truck would be reserved for the new Plumbing Inspector position. Recommendation: Staff requests authorization to purchase two Ford Ranger pickup trucks through the State of Illinois Purchase Plan for an amount not to exceed $36,000.
