AGENDA SUPPLEMENT
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Douglas K. Maxeiner, City Administrator
FOR: June 13, 2005 Regular City Council Meeting
RE: Request for Class A Liquor License, 2606 Schaid Court
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the request for a Class A Liquor License from
Mulligan’s Saloon, Inc. d/b/a Mulligan’s Saloon, 2606 Schaid Court subsequent to a
satisfactory fingerprint report.
The Mayor received a request for a Class A liquor license from Les Lunsmann,
President of Mulligan’s Saloon, Inc. Mr. Lunsmann intends to open a sports bar at
2606 Schaid Court.
As the former owner of Harmony Resort in Johnsburg, Mr. Lunsmann has experience
operating a restaurant that serves alcohol. In addition, he appeared before the
McHenry Planning and Zoning Commission on April 21, 2005 and received a positive
recommendation for a use variance to serve alcoholic beverages at the proposed
location; a copy of the meeting minutes is attached.
Mr. Lunsmann has been fingerprinted, met with Mayor Low, submitted all required
information, and has paid all associated fees. In addition, the staff at Mulligan’s
Saloon will be required to attend BASSETT training classes offered through the
McHenry Police Department.
