The Consent Agenda for the April 28,2003 Annual City Council meeting consists of
the following items:

RE: Year 2003/2004 Annual Liquor License Renewals
RECOMMENDATION:
1. To approve the 2003/2004 Renewal of Liquor Licenses for the Establishments on
the attached list subject to satisfactory fingerprint results of the new managers.
2. To approve the attached Ordinance decreasing the number of Class B liquor
licenses from Three to Two.
3. To approve the attached Ordinance decreasing the number of Class F2 liquor
licenses from Ten to Nine.
Pursuant to Chapter 4 of the City of McHenry Municipal Code, liquor establishments located in the
city limits must renew their licenses annually with the City of McHenry by April 30 (the end of the
fiscal year). Attached for your review is a list of the establishments that have submitted a liquor
license renewal application for the 2003/2004-year.
As done in the past, approval of all liquor establishments with new managers is conditioned upon
receipt of satisfactory fingerprint results. Those establishments are depicted on the attached list by
an asterisk. The results should be received from the Illinois State Police within six to eight weeks.
This year, the city was notified by Clark Oil that the gas station on 3111 W. Route 120 is closed;
and consequently, will not be renewing the Class B-5 liquor license. Therefore, i t is necessary to
approve the attached ordinance decreasing the number of Class B liquor licenses in force at one
time from three to two. In addition, Eagle Food Stores is closing its store on Elm Street in May and
will not be renewing its Class F2 liquor license. An ordinance reflecting this change is also
attached.
As Liquor Commissioner, Mayor Althoff recommends the renewal of all liquor licenses requested by
the establishments on the attached list and ordinances amending the number of licenses in force.
Approval of all licenses is subject to satisfactory fingerprint results from the new owners and/or
managers.
