RE: Annual Liquor License Renewals
RECOMMENDATION:
1. To approve the 2002/2003 Renewal of Liquor Licenses for the Establishments on
the attached list subject to satisfactory fingerprint results of the new owners and/or
managers.
2. To approve the attached Ordinance decreasing the number of Class B liquor
licenses from Four to Three.
Pursuant to Chapter 4 of the City of McHenry Municipal Code, liquor establishments located in the
city limits must renew their licenses annually with the City of McHenry by April 30 (the end of the
fiscal year). Attached for your review is the 2002-2003 list of establishments that have submitted
their liquor license renewal applications.
In addition, all new owners and/or managers must be fingerprinted. The results should be received
from the Illinois State Police within the next six to eight weeks. As always, approval of those Liquor
license applications is conditioned upon receipt of satisfactory fingerprint results. Those
establishments are depicted on the attached list by an asterisk.
This year, the city was notified by Jim Becker owner of McHenry Drugs, 1325 N. Riverside Drive,
that he will not be renewing his Class B-1 liquor license. Therefore, i t is necessary to approve the
attached ordinance decreasing the number of Class B liquor licenses in force at one time from four
to three.
As Liquor Commissioner, Mayor Althoff recommends the renewal of all liquor licenses requested by
the establishments on the attached list. Approval of all licenses is subject to satisfactory fingerprint
results from the new owners and/or managers.
In addition, the Mayor recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance decreasing the number
of Class B liquor licenses from four to three.
