Board of Police Commissioners
August 4, 2021
Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm in the McHenry Municipal Center
City Council Chambers with the following Commissioners present, Mike Roberts and John Jones. Also
present was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve July 12, 2021 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Police Commission John
Jones and second by Police Commissioner Mike Roberts to approve the minutes from the July 12,
2021 Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Personnel Update: Officer Lopez has moved onto Step 3.
Still have 1 vacancy looking to fill. Working on backgrounds. Waiting on Polygraph results.
Looking to hire in September.
At next Police Commission meeting will have plan in place for the Sergeants promotional test.
Then next step will be to set up interview dates and times. Take a look at questions for the
interviewing process, may have to update.

The following bill(s) were presented for approval:

Personality Evaluation Angelica Cerceo - $395.00
Police Commission Mike Roberts motion to approve bills, second by John Jones. All ayes,
motion carried.

5. Adjournment
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting, Police Commission John Jones and
second by Police Commissioner Mike Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 2:20 pm. All ayes,
motion carried.
