Economic Development Commission
Meeting Minutes
March 23, 2021
Chairman Mrachek called the March 23, 2021 regular meeting of the City of McHenry Economic
Development Commission to order at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held via Zoom web conferencing.
In attendance were the following: Bremer, Jessup, Mrachek, Rankins, and Mayor Jett. Absent:
Bionda, Tenuto, Pfeifer, Economic Development Coordinator Wolf and Alderman Schaefer. Also in
attendance was Director of Economic Development Martin.
Public Comment: There were no members of the public wishing to make public comment.
Approval of Meeting Minutes dated January 26, 2021
Motion by Bremer, seconded by Rankins to approve the January 26, 2021 Regular Meeting minutes
of the Economic Development Commission, as presented. All in Favor. Motion Carried.
Small Business Administration Presentation
Stephen Konkle gave a presentation on on the Cares Act and Economic Aid Act and opportunities
available to area businesses.
Commissioner Reports
Tours of Jessup Mfg and D156 Center for Science, Technology and Industry were discussed.
Economic Recovery
Discussion was held on creating a 1-year after COVID survey. Dorothy and Doug will work on getting
a survey sent out.
New Business
Discussion was held regarding the future of the Economic Development Commission. A meeting will
be set up with Mayor Jett and City Administrator Morefield to discuss a possible reorganization.
Meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
