HELD AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING CLASSROOM - 1ST FLOOR

1. Introductions
2. Character Counts (handouts will be available)
3. Discussion on Athletic Facilities for 2009
- Availability of Facilities
- West Campus High School & McCracken Field (contact Drew
Potthoff directly)
- Field Renovations/Improvements
- Knox Park Field #2 lighting renovations
- Petersen Park Field #2 lighting renovations, 90' base paths,
left field 320', right field 300' and center field 375'
Scheduling/ maintenance
- Petersen Park Fields #3 and #4 - cut back sod on base lines,
added new sod, added limestone for batter box areas
- Shamrock Park - added 6 truckloads of sand to each field, and
then roto-tilled it in with the existing ball field mix.
- Certificates of Insurance (name city as $1 million additional
insured before league begins)
4. Scheduling of Facilties
- Games (warm up only on field assigned - no games at
Petersen Park on July 4-fireworks, July 12 before 6 pm-car
show, or July 13-big wheels race)
- Practice Fields (good for spring and fall leagues -do not
have the individual teams contact the parks and recreation
department - field assignments should be made from within
organization)
- Use of fields from other communities and organizations
(VFW/Twp/ Lakemoor/ Schools - High School deal
directly with Drew Potthoff)
- Rain-dates/Make-up games/Schedule Changes (email Pattie
Lunkenheimer, Ambrose Kittl & Cindy Witt/ to make sure
bathrooms open, concessions, no conflicts, etc.)
- In-season & Post-season tournaments (Pigtail - bourn. July 20-
July 26) Fall Leagues (use same practice fields as in the
summer)
- Field Clean-up (Freund Field - boys/ Fox Ridge - girls)
- Ball Field Equipment Use (change drags on ball field machines to
mat drag vs field rake)
- Field Maintenance Training Day (Sat, April 18/9 am/Petersen Pk
give Ambrose a list of who will be attending)
- Security - issuing of keys, unauthorized use of fields (Police/CSO-
issue tickets, no parking, no alcohol (beer cans found in trash at
Petersen Park last year), no dogs allowed in the parks - please put
on schedules)
- Season Schedules Deadlines

5. Pitch, Hit & Run Competition - Saturday, May 2, 9 am at the VFW (boys
league taking over - pigtail league help???
