ELECTION FOR CITY TREASURER AND CITY ALDERMEN
BE IT RESOLVED by the mayor and the Board of Aldermen
of the City of McHenry that:
1. There are vacancies on the Board of Aldermen caused
by the resignation of Alfred lonyan, Alderman of Nerd 1, and by the removal
from the City of McHenry of Albert S. Blake, Alderman of Ward *� and by
the removal from the City of McHenry of James E. Larkin, City Treasurer
and it is to the best interest of the City that the said vacancies be
filled by special election.
2. There shall be a special election in the City of McHenry
on the 28th day of Arril, 1950 to fill the vacancies in the above described
offices, at which election there shall be elected: In Ward 1, one
Alderman to serve out the unexpired term of one year of AlfredTonyan;
in Ward 3, one Alderman to serve out the unexpired term of three years
of Albert 0. Blake; City Treasurer to serve out the unexpired term of
three years of James E. Larkin.
3. The ballot used in said election shall be in the form
provided by statute. The City Clerk shall see to the preparation of
sufficient ballots for the election and shall cause a sample of such ballot
to be published prior to the day of election in the rriclenry Yleindealer.
4. Not more than 30 and not less than 15 days prior
to said election the clerk shall cause to be published in the McHenry
Plaindealer a notice of election as provided by statute.
5. The polling places for said election shall be as
follows:
WARD 1 - City Hall
WARD 2 _ Lee & Ray Electric Shop, 516 Main Street
WARD 3 - A. S. Blake Motor Sales, 301 East Pearl Street
6. The judges and clerks of election at such election
shall be:
WARD 1 - Judges: Vera Purvey, Margaret Simon, Della Freund
Clerks: Clara Miller, Bertha Felcman, Margaret Smith
WARD 2 - Judges: Susan I. Olsen, Vera Kane, Marion Schoenholtz
Clerks: Ella Buss, Elsie Smith, Evelyn Hart
WARD 3 - Judges: H. J. Miller, Nick Weingart, Katie Weber
Clerks: Lillian Huck, Ellen Phalin, Evelyn Freund
7. The said election and all matters pertaining thereto
shall be conducted as nearly as possible in the manner prescribed by statute
for the conduct of a regular election for City Officers.
