RESOLUTION
OF
PROTEST
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is a Municipal Corporation
duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is a Zoned Municipality,
which, on November 5, 1973, adopted an Official Comprehensive
Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof; and
WHEREAS, Material Service Corporation and others have
petitioned the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals to.
recommend to the County Board that petitioners be granted a
conditional use permit to allow a gravel pit processing
operation to be conducted on land which is located within
one and one-half miles of the City limits and within the
jurisdiction of the Plan area of the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
McHenry believe that the aforesaid gravel pit processing
operation would be directly in conflict with the basic needs
and aspirations of both the City of McHenry and of the neigh-
borhood located within the Plan area of the City of McHenry
and that such gravel pit processing operation would have many
negative effects upon the City of McHenry and upon said neigh-
borhood;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Mayor and City Council are opposed to gravel
pit processing operations at the aforesaid location under any
and all conditions, and they protest to the County Board of
McHenry County, Illinois, against granting the requested con-
ditional use permit .
2. They respectfully request the cooperation and assist-
ance of the County Board of McHenry County in preserving the
integrity of the Comprehensive Plan of the City of McHenry, by
voting against the proposed gravel pit processing operation.

3. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall
be filed in the Office of the County Clerk of McHenry
County forthwith.
