HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - R-71-6 - 10/19/1971 - Special Use Permit for Zion Church • 10-19-'1 I RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a hearing was conducted by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of McHenry concerning the Petition of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for the issuance of a Special Use Permit for chuidi purposes in regard to the following described property: Part of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Prin- cipal Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center of the Woodstock and McHenry Road at the Southwest corner of a piece of land conveyed by Henry Bucholtz and wife to John Knox, Jr. by Deed dated January 30, 1882 and recorded in Book 66 of Deeds, page 429, said corner being 18 rods Westerly from the East line of said Section 27 as measured along the center of said road; thence North 1 degree East along the West line of said land so conveyed to John Knox, Jr. to the South line of a piece of land conveyed by Alexander H. Hanley and wife to Herman N. Owen and Edwin M. Owen by Deed dated February 20, 1868 and recorded in Book 42 of Deeds, page 247; thence North 741 degrees West along said South line to a point 5 chains and 24 links Westerly from the East line of said Section as measured along said South line; thence South 572 degrees West, 1 chain and 66 links; thence South 71 degrees, West 1 chain and 57 links; thence South 47 degrees West 1 chain and 25 links; thence South 20 degrees West, 1 chain and 15 links; thence South 31 degrees East, 1 chain and 44 links; thence South 242 degrees West 6 chains and 60 links to the center of the said Woodstock and McHenry Road; thence Southeasterly along the center of said road to the place of beginning, in McHenry County, Illinois, excepting therefrom the Easterly 100. 0 feet thereof as measured along the center line of said road, said property being located on the North side of Illinois State Route 120, bordered to the East by the property of Earl and Amanda Brown and on the West by Boone Creek, and said Petition specifically requesting the issuance of a Permit to permit the construction of a 9, 500 square foot building addition to the present church structure, which building shall contain approximately 19 rooms to be used for religious oriented meetings and education, and LOOZE & KINNE ATTORNEYS 3431 W. ELM STREET McHENRY, ILLINOIS - 1 - I a WHEREAS, after the taking of evidence at such public hearing by the Zoning Board of Appeals, it was properly recommended that the prayer of the Petition for issuance of a Special Use Permit be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry, Illinois, and such Ordinance as has been amended, shall reflect the issuance of a Special Use Permit concerning the premises as hereinabove described which shall allow the entirety of said premises to be used for church and religious oriented activities.
