S_ l O GENERAL ASSE_L_BLY STATE OF ILLINOIS 160 North La Salle Street f Room 1620 Chicago, Illinois 60601 1. November 24 , 1970 Mr. Earl R. Walsh City Clerk City of McHenry McHenry, Illinois Dear Mr. Walsh: Senator Berning referred to me your recent letter and accompanying resolution concerning the proposed consolidation of the McHenry County Commission on Criminal Justice with the Lake County C.C.J. Senator Berning shares your concern in this matter and has asked me to pursue it. In conversation with a representative of the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission, I was informed that much of the opposition to the proposed consolidation has abated. If this is the case, we would ask you to direct us as to what further action on our part you might consider appropriate. If this is not the case, then we would hope to be of assistance to you either in devising an alternative to consolidation or in consolidating with the Commissions operating in Boone, DeKalb, and Ogle Counties. We would certainly appreciate hearing your views on these suggestions. Sincerely, a tin P.
