RESOLUTION
CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the City Council of the
City of McHenry that a dangerous condition exists within the City limits
at the intersection of Main Street and the right-of-way of the Chicago &
North Western Rail Way, by reason of lack of adequate warning of approac`i-
ing trains, and,
WHEREAS, it is the position of the City Council that the
greatly increased flow of traffic through this crossing resulting from the
construction of the new high school and rapid residential growth in the
immediate area, are of such proportions as to require adequate flasher
signal warning devices to be installed in the interest of public safety:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of McHenry, that JOHN E. LOOZE be, and hereby is, directed
to take such steps and to perform such acts as shall be necessary to
secure the installation of a suitable warning device, or devices, at the
said intersection of Main Street and the right-of-way of the Chicago &
North Western Rail Way; and he shall seek the cooperation and joint con-
tribution of either the State of Illinois and the Chicago & North Western
Rail Way, or both of them, to assist in effecting the installation, opera-
tion and maintenance of such warning device or devices.
