WHEREAS , the City of McHenry, Illinois , has been
made aware of an unfavorable condition existing in the
drainage ditch which runs through the Lakeland Park area
in the City, and
WHEREAS , investigation shows the condition of
the drainage ditch is a menace to the public health and
welfare in the community, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of McHenry
deem it necessary to correct the situation immediately,
and
WHEREAS, the estimate of cost to correct the
situation would place too great a financial burden on
the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of
McHenry request the Hon. Thomas J. Hanahan of the
Thirty Third Representative District to present
this urgent problem to the General Assembly of
the State of Illinois for consideration in
appropriating funds to correct the problem
stated.
FURTHER, that the City of McHenry engage the
services of W. A. Rakow and Associates , Civil
and Sanitary Engineers , to prepare preliminary
engineering plans on the proposed project.

I, Earl R. Walsh, do hereby certify that I am the
duly qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of McHenry,
Illinois , and that the City Council of the City of McHenry,
Illinois , has duly passed the above and foregoing Resolution
at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the
3 rd. day of February, A.D. 1969 , at which meeting the
Mayor and a quorum of the Aldermen of the City of McHenry
were present and voting.
