R-78-26
WHEREAS, BOONE CREEK, a waterway within the City of McHenry,
drains a 23 square mile watershed, and
WHEREAS , BOONE CREEK was formerly deep, wide, and clear, and
WHEREAS, BOONE CREEK is now shallow, narrow, and residue
laden, and
WHEREAS , BOONE CREEK could be restored to its original beauty
if it were deepened, and
WHEREAS, funding to restore Boone Creek is not available
locally,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of McHenry go on record requesting that our legislators , Thomas J .
Hanahan, Calvin Skinner, Bruce Waddell , and Jack Schaffer, introduce
and support legislation that would fund the dredging of Boone Creek
within the City of McHenry.
