RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John J. Shay has served eight years as Director of Civil
Defense and two years as Director of the Emergency Services and Disaster
Agency for the City of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, he has devoted many hours , with exceptional ability, in
performing his duties to protect the health, welfare and safety of the
citizens of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, he has served the citizens of McHenry with dedication,
integrity and honor, and
WHEREAS, his knowledge of the workings of the Civil Defense Agency
has been of great value to the citizens of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, he has been elected to serve as President of the Illinois
Civil Defense Council , and
WHEREAS, John J. Shay has always been a prompt, efficient, and
willing worker in any and all emergencies that have beset the city of
McHenry and surrounding areas, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, on behalf of himself, the City Council , and all
citizens of the City of McHenry wishes to express their feeling of
honor attained by the City at the recognition being bestowed upon
John J. Shay by the Illinois Civil Defense Council .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and citizens of the
City of McHenry acknowledge the many contributions and accomplishments
of John J. Shay and wish to express their appreciaiton.
