WHEREAS, the McHenry Community High School Building Trades Classes and
the Art Club Classes constructed a beautiful Nativity Scene for the City of
McHenry which has been erected at the intersection of Elm and Front Streets;
and
WHEREAS, much time, effort and preparation was expended by the students
and their teachers in the building and decorating the lifesize Nativity Scene;
and
WHEREAS, the citizens of McHenry and visitors from the surrounding area
can enjoy the impressive and inspiring Nativity Scene during the 1980 Holiday
Season and many future Holiday Seasons; and
WHEREAS, the Building Trades and Art Club classes have shown true com-
munity spirit and service in the construction of the decorative Nativity Scene.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council , on behalf
of the citizens of McHenry and the surrounding area, go on record expressing
their appreciation and gratitude to the McHenry Community High School Building
Trades and Art Club classes for the talent and effort they put forth in this
truly worthy project.
Motion by Nolan , seconded by Pepping , that the above Resolu-
tion be adopted and that a copy be made a permanent part of the records of the
City of McHenry and that a copy be presented to the Building Trades Classes
and Art Club Classes of McHenry Community High School .
