A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is a need for a quasi-public
joint commission of the City of McHenry and the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce
to further business health and expansion; and
WHEREAS, such a commission would be an advising body reporting to both the
City Council and the Chamber Board of Directors, which would act as a liaison
between local business/industry and government; and
WHEREAS, the Commission would work to develop McHenry's industry, by recrui-
ting desirable industry and subsequent jobs; and
WHEREAS, the Commission would strive to plan the growth of commercial areas,
as well as help existing commercial areas remain healthy; and
WHEREAS, the Commission would review existing community resources and help
rectify any neglected areas; and
WHEREAS, the following McHenry area business people have agreed to serve on
the joint commission: Thomas Bolger, David Gelwicks, Donald R. (Butch) Meyer, Jr. ,
Bryce Klontz, Jack Pepping, Daniel Curran, Ken Bast, Fran Olsen, Dennis Wonderlick,
Barbara Gilpin and Maxine Moy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council hereby passes
a Resolution to create a joint commission of the City of McHenry and the McHenry
Area Chamber of Commerce to be known as the McHenry Area Economic Development
Commission (EDC) .
PASSED this 21st day of September, 1981.
