RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Korean Flight 007, carrying 269 passengers , was shot
down by the Soviet Union August 31, 1983, and
WHEREAS, all 269 innocent passengers were murdered.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of McHenry, Illinois , that the City of McHenry go on
record as condemning the Soviet Union for their actions, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of McHenry extends its
sympathy to the families and friends of the innocent victims in
this crime against humanity.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of September, 1983.
