RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan has shown determination and courage in
establishing Sullivan Foods , an independent food store in the City '
of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, 36 new jobs were created for McHenry area residents
as employees of Sullivan Foods; and
WHEREAS, the development of Sullivan Food Store has greatly
improved the appearance of the center of town by refurbishing its
building, resurfacing its parking lot and installing of new lights ;
and
WHEREAS, Sullivan Foods generates numerous tax dollars for the
City of McHenry by offering top-of-the-line quality in service,
price and selection; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan Foods exemplifies small town community spirit
by supporting and assisting service organizations in offering
discounts for their fund raising ventures ; and
WHEREAS, THE McHenry Area Economic Development Commission has
chosen Sullivan Foods for their first "EDC Spotlight" award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of McHenry, on behalf of the residents of the McHenry
Area, recognize Sullivan Foods for its contributions to the community
and congratulates Tom Sullivan for the honor being awarded him by the
McHenry Area Economic Development Commission.
