RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, June A. Stewart will retire on July 31, 1986 from active
leadership as Administrative Librarian of the McHenry Public Library, af-
ter twenty-five years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure she saw the Library grow from a collec-
tion of 2,000 books to over 48,000 volumes, as well as two building ex-
pansions; and
WHEREAS, June Stewart was instrumental in implementing many inno-
vations to expand the level of service at the Library, including the es-
tablishment of the Historical and Genealogy Section, for which she can
look back with pride and satisfaction on the progress that the McHenry
Public Library has made.; and
WHEREAS, June was an active member in the Illinois Library Associ-
ation, the McHenry/Lake County Librarian Group, as well as many other lo-
cal organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of McHenry officially recognizes June Stewart's many accomplishments and
expresses its appreciation on behalf of the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into
the minutes of this meeting and that a copy of this Resolution be pre-
sented to June Stewart.
