RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Avis Gans has recently retired from the McHenry Public
Library wherein she had served with purpose and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Avis and her husband Frank have been residents of McHenry
for the past 36 years and twenty years ago, after generously volunteering
her time, became employed at the Library and assisted the Library Treas-
urer in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and other
bookkeeping functions; and
WHEREAS, Avis was also active in community organizations including
a lifetime membership in the Girl Scouts of America, President of the
McHenry Womens' Club, a member of the McHenry County President's Club and
assisted with the McHenry Sesquicentennial pageant this past week; and
WHEREAS, her accomplishments and contributions are hereby acknow-
ledged with gratitude.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of McHenry go on record as recognizing these accomplishments and
expresses its appreciation on behalf of all the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into
the minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Avis Gans.
